Title : A new method called EKA with using low power laser in repairing cleft lip

Abstract:

This disease is one of the most common innate and inherited disorders related to X chromosome. About one in every 900 births develops cleft lip or palate. Inherited and environmental factors are involved in the emergence of oral clefts, the intensity and duration of action of environmental factors are more important than a particular type of them. Environmental factors such as exposure to toxic substances such as alcohol and cocaine use in pregnancy and genetic syndromes are involved in the gap. With this in mind, cleft lip and palate can be considered as one of the most common neonatal disorders and defects. This defect is almost equal in both sexes, but only in the case of cleft lip and palate, boys are about 2 times more likely to be affected, and it usually occurs on the left side. In cleft palate alone, girls are more than twice as likely as boys to be infected. Surgery will be the only solution to help treat it, but 90% of surgeries will remain scarred, which will reduce a person's self-confidence and will seek to repair the surgical scar. The methods of repair will be different, but laser therapy with low-power laser has a high percentage of improvement that the high-power laser and other methods will not have. This unique method will be applicable with laser wavelengths of 600 to 900 nm and a power range of 50 to 200 mW, which is irradiated from several sensitive points and occurs in 6 to 14 sessions of continuous and excellent repair with a high percentage. In this method, without the smallest cut or wound, we create a role by stimulating cells to increase activity and tissue repair which finally, with several wavelengths and different power ranges in a certain period of time during the sessions, causes tissue repair and increased collagen formation, which will eventually cause scar repair and change the appearance of the lips. Due to its non-invasive nature, this method is completely safe and can be used in children under five years of age. This method does not require care or recovery period.
