Biography:
Dr. Selene Solorza-Calderón received her Bachelor's degree in Applied Math in 1997 from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Mexico; her MSc degree in 1999 and her Ph.D. degree in 2005, both in Earth Sciences from Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada. Since 2003, she has been a researcher in the Math Area at the Faculty of Sciences, UABC. Her research interests include image processing, pattern recognition in digital images, and wave propagation in poroelastic media. Dra. Solorza-Calderón is a member of the Mexican National Research System (SNI) and a member of the Mexican Mathematical Society.
