Title : Defining lip health

Abstract:

We will review the latest research findings from clinical investigation on lips of female subjects ranging in age from 20-60 years, across multiple geographical locations. Assessments of lip hydration, lip barrier function, expert grading of lip health, as well as lipid and protein content will be discussed with a preview of changes in lip microbiome. We will close with a discussion of the impact of natural ingredients in management of lip health.

Biography:

Hemali Gunt began her career with Burt’s Bees in 2011, and currently serves as the Head of Clinical & Scientific Affairs. She has over 15 years of research and innovation experience in skin science, and leads the biophysical and chemical characterization, structural and functional research, and new technology development to bring natural alternatives with functional performance and biological efficacy to its consumers. She works closely with world leading dermatologists and industry experts to gain further insights on an ever-evolving industry. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Cincinnati. As a pharmacist and skin scientist, she is passionate about innovating, educating, and advocating for gentle and effective options that improve skin health and overall quality of life.
