Title : Rare skin diseases in Vietnam

Abstract:

A rare disease is as a condition that affects very few people. According to data  from the National Organization for Rare Disease (NORD), there are more than 7000 rare diseases and the total number of people living with a rare disease is estimated at 300 millions including children. There are many different causes of rare diseases such as genetics, disorders of immune response, psychiatrics, neural conditions, infections.Rare skin diseases in Viet nam are very complex and difficult for early diagnosis. The “Advisory Council meeting on rare Disease Management in Viet nam” since 2018 and Significant momentum was made for improving diagnosis, treatment and mamagement of specific rare diseases including rare skin diseases.In the presentation, the author introduces and presents some rare skin conditions/ disorders/ syndromes detected in Viet Nam. The Dermatologists have been in cooperation with experts on genertics, psychiatrics, immunology, obstetrics, for early diagnose and succesful management of pediatric patients with rare diseases, conditions, disorsers. The author also provides a deeper insight into pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of 48 rare diseases detected mostly in Viet nam. The rare images and information help Dermatologists and Specialists in other filds collaborate effectively, recognize early symptoms, make timely diagnoses, and treat patients to minimize complications. The strategy for management of rare skin diseases in Viet nam has been introduced by the author.

Biography:

Dr. Tran Hau Khang is Professor at the Hanoi Medical University and senior superior consultant at the National Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology and Deputy President of the Asian Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AADV). He was President of the Vietnamese Society of Dermatology and Venereology. Professor Khang used to be Director of the National Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology, Head of Department of Dermatology at the Hanoi Medical University. He is also among the international leaders who participated in the development of the first Asian seborrheic dermatitis, acne, urticaria and atopic dermatitis guidelines. Professor Khang is the author of many book and book chapters on Dermato – Venereology as well as a number of scientific articles in highly regarded dermatology journals. His books have been published in the United State, Germany and UK. Professor Tran Hau Khang was the Chief Editor of the Vietnamese Journal of Dermatology and Venereology and member of the International Editorial Board, LASER THERAPY International Journal, Journal of Dermatologic Therapy. He has vast experience in study of leprosy, STD, skin cancer, immune skin diseases, psoriasis, acne, ... Furthermore, he  has participated in numerous international workshop/meeting/seminar and has lectured and researched extensively at the Hanoi Medical University. Professor Khang has been recipient of several awards by both National and International Organizations.
