Trichology is a branch of medicine and deals with study and treatment of hair and scalp. Hair appearance and morphology are considered to be one of the human population's distinct features. Hair is made up of a unique anatomical structure. The cuticle, cortex, and medulla are the three morphological components that make up hair fibers. Scalp care is important since it determines the health and condition of the hair and helps to avoid scalp and hair problems. Hair cosmetic agents are products that are designed to be applied to the hair and scalp for the purposes of cleansing, enhancing attractiveness, changing look, and/or protecting them in order to keep them healthy. Current studies are focused to figure out the molecular mechanisms that control the distinct phases of the hair cycle, as well as the transition from one to the next. To date, progress has been made in the understanding of the signals involved in hair follicle initial organogenesis.
