A cosmetic product is a material or mixture that is not intended to be swallowed, inhaled, injected, or implanted into the human body. Cosmetics are regulated by law, while products used primarily as medicines are exempted. Providing a cosmetic product with an inaccurate label is illegal. The manufacturer's or importer's name and address, the ingredients, durability marking, function, and precautions are all required on the label. Finally, failing to do specified safety assessments and compile technical documentation is illegal. It is illegal to test a finished cosmetic product or an ingredient on an animal in order to ensure that the product meets the Regulation's standards. Cosmetic items whose final formulation, or any element or combination of ingredients, have been tested on animals are likewise prohibited from being sold.
